Dark Chocolate Bark

Dark Chocolate Bark

One common theme when it comes to snacking, is tackling the urge to snack on an evening, and often it’s cravings to snack on something sweet. There is absolutely nothing wrong with an odd sweet snack when we fancy one, however if this becomes a daily habit, it may not be the healthiest approach to take.

The good thing about this dark chocolate bark is that alongside the sweetness from the chocolate, you’re getting the nutrients and fibre that comes from the other ingredients too. This combination helps to increase feelings of fullness and satisfaction rather than that urge to reach for more. Evidence suggests that the more intense flavour from dark chocolate leads to a decreased desire to continue eating, therefore often feeling satisfied from a smaller portion.

For a large chocolate bark you will need:
🍫 2x 70% Dark Chocolate
🍫 1tsp Cinnamon
🍫 Pinch of Salt
🍫 1 tbsp Dried Fruit
🍫 1 tbsp Pumpkin Seeds
🍫 1 tbsp Nuts of choice
🍫 1 tbsp Coconut Flakes

Method:
Melt the 2 bars of dark chocolate into a pan. Add the cinnamon and salt and stir well. Add grease proof paper to a baking tray and pour the chocolate over the tray, spreading evenly. While the chocolate is still melted, sprinkle over your toppings. Place the baking tray in the oven to set overnight. Once solid, break into small pieces and store in an airtight container.
Enjoy. 😋
